Seward and Kenai Bird Migration
Seward on Wednesday. Daedra chaperoned Milena's field trip to the Seward Sealife Center. I had a respite knitting and enjoying the view.
An hour at the windy Kenai Flats - our local bird migration viewing with sandhill cranes, geese, trumpeter swans, and sandpipers. So wonderful to see the improvement in numbers of returning birds.

Teri's Medieval LB Spread
Since I will be so busy in May, this page has been completed before receiving Teri's lacebook. It is due to be mailed to me by the end of the month from Idaho. I am happy with the results and consulted with Deb to make sure the dimensions are correct. Teri is requesting one side of the spread only and 9"x22". Her cover has a wrap-around so I didn't put as much on the sides to accommodate that.

Soulful Adornment
Decided to join Terri (Heinz) at Creative Workshops for her "Soulful Adornment" class; it will help me get back into my beading. The class began yesterday and so far I have made a couple of artworks for bezel adornment. Next will be bezel work soldering and ice resin; then, the fun begins with bead selection.
[You can check out her workshop info via the link in the
sidebar to the right; under my Flickr images.]
Images are approximately 1/2-3/4" x 2".

Zephyr Cove #2
Couldn't help myself; wanted to begin a second shawl for "multi-task knitting" - you know, while waiting at the eye doctor's office during the scheduled Wednesday appointment.
For me it's a relaxing and meditative process. Besides, I think I now know what I am doing... [Ugh - totally missed the one "sk2p" in the first shawl - not that most people will notice.]

Medieval Tag
Had promised myself when we began our Medieval Lacebook Collaborative to make a tag for our dear dear friend SuzyQ in Australia who participated with us last year. Well, in a month and a half we will be ending our venture; and, I finally have the tag and a secret gift ready for the mail tomorrow.
I AM making headway on my "to do" list! Yeah!

Picot beaded the smoked moose hide last weekend when
I completed a similar/larger piece for the last lacebook
coming my way the end-of-the-month.
Zephyr Cove Completed
Completed the beautiful shawl tonight (04-11) and had such a fun time knitting it. Romi Hill's pattern (purchased through Ravelry) was extremely well written, easy to follow, and perfect.
I used "You-Tube" a couple of times for clarity on stitches and terminology; all went well. Now I can make another one! Romi's shawl is shown in my 03/29 post.
Thanks for enjoying the process with me.

Zephyr Cove Update
Lots of progress, though small ones on Size 5 needles. Have 198 stitches on currently; 38 rows to go, adding two stitches every four rows... then, on to an 18 row graph for the "wave."
Was concerned about the pattern, but even after all these years away from the skill, I seem to be able to follow along and move forward.

Photography Collaborative
Via a "Photojournal" yahoogroup with Catherine Anderson, the latest presentation is a 5x5 four seasons requirement with four 2x2 photos. I ordered two sets today (front and back). The 5x5s are "offset" to allow for binding (FYI). I simply printed one of the photos for the back of the entries. In the end I will get a book returned with 21+ other submissions. Was a fun project, due the end of the month.
Levi in Snuggle Sack
Remember the two baby snuggle sacks I knitted the end of February, a red one and a blue one?
Just received this lovely photo that Hanna posted on her FB of Levi Jaxon Hand, born 03-05-2013, and he loves the snuggle sack.
Thank you, Hanna, for sharing the photo - Levi is precious.

Medieval Garden LB
Just completed Liz's Medieval Garden Lacebook. Am fortunate to get it done early and thankful since there is a lot going on this month. (Taxes you know.)
One more spread and my book will return to me!

Quiet Weekend
Very quiet weekend since Dareena and I were both feeling "under the weather." And, this week Dar is running for track and having academic testing - so we all know how that goes.
Dae and girls came over for a couple of hours; had a lovely visit and a very simple light meal, but made it festive.
