Seward and Kenai Bird Migration
Seward on Wednesday. Daedra chaperoned Milena's field trip to the Seward Sealife Center. I had a respite knitting and enjoying the view.
An hour at the windy Kenai Flats - our local bird migration viewing with sandhill cranes, geese, trumpeter swans, and sandpipers. So wonderful to see the improvement in numbers of returning birds.

Your pictures make me imagine a trip to Alaska! Lovely scenery, and it's very good news about the increase in bird numbers. I especially like the close-up of the crane, wings spread.
That's exciting to see that the numbers are increasing. How fun it must be to see them return. Sounds like some very interesting and beautiful types of birds.

Karen, these photo's are fabulous, as always. I guess my timing has never been right to see so many birds at one time. BUT I've been there in mid May - was I too late? Love these pictures. XXOO
The cranes are so beautiful! We get great blue herons here - I love watching them fly.
Wow--- amazing photography! The bird photos are amazing!! Seward is such a lovely little town-- pretty views from everywhere!
